AerCap Leases Out More Boeing Narrowbodies Back East

JD Logistics to Begin Hauling the Mail with Boeing Converted Freighters

AerCap Holdings N.V. solidified four lease agreements for a few 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) aircraft with JD Airlines, the cargo airline of JD Logistics.

Those stateside may not recognize 'JD Logistics', but the cargo folks who spend time at the international sites might see 'Jingdong Logistics' and hear the faint ring of a bell. Jingdong has scheduled the aircraft delivery for sometime this year, running a tight schedule as far as aircraft deliveries go. It's less impressive to realize the aircraft will all be operated on behalf of JD Logistics to service their corporate owner, JD.com's supply chain needs at home. The planes will be kept at the Nantong Xingdong International Airport, and run missions between a handful of Asian logistics hubs back East. So far, it's expected that JD Logistics will make runs between Nantong, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Wuxi as their most frequent destinations. The deal adds to a trio of similarly equipped 737s already leased to JD Airlines.

"We are delighted to announce this new agreement with JD Airlines, marking an exciting expansion of our business relationship," said Rich Greener, Head of AerCap Cargo. "The addition of these four 737-800BCF aircraft to their fleet will enable JD Airlines to respond to the ever-growing demand for e-commerce and express deliveries. We wish the JD Airlines team continued success and look forward to many more years of successful collaboration."
