Passenger Injured When Bird Goes Through Windscreen

Plane Lands Safely, Bird Not-So-Much

A passenger aboard a Cessna 210 Centurion was seriously injured when a bird impacted the aircraft's windscreen while inflight-- and then kept going.

The unidentified man, who was instructing the pilot, was hit in the face by the impaled bird as the plane was on approach to Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) Saturday, according to WKMG-TV.

The pilot managed to land the stricken aircraft safely, and the passenger was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The C210 (file photo of type, above) is registered to Orlando-based Flight Express, according to WFTV. The company's website states the overnight courier service maintains a fleet of 59 Centurions.
