Epic Flight Academy Finalizes Agreement with Polk State

Airframe and Powerplant Students Now Receive College Credit for their Part 147 AMT Classes

Epic Flight Academy, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, has signed a deal with Polk State College to allow Epic AMT graduates to receive transfer credit hours.

Students must have matriculated from Epic's Part 147 Aircraft Mechanic Program, and submit a transfer of credits request along with their FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate to Polk state. Once approved, students will obtain 30 credit hours classified as courses performed to obtain an associate degree in Aviation Maintenance Administration. The recognition is well earned, as Epic students spend nearly 20 consecutive months in training for their A&P cert and AMT certification. The ability to enroll as Polk students allows those interested in extra college courses to attend class at the college concurrently while at Epic while kickstarting their degree.

“We are thrilled to partner with Polk State College,” said Epic CEO Danny Perna. “Aviation maintenance technicians are in high demand, so students are initially attracted to our program because of the good pay and benefits. However, being able to provide a pathway for a college degree is something we’re especially excited about. It gives our students even more options.”

“Polk State College is proud to partner with Epic Flight Academy to help address the critical need for qualified aviation maintenance technicians," said Eric Crump, aerospace program director at Polk State. "Together, we can provide our graduates with the skills they need to be successful throughout their career journey.”
