Alto Aviation Announces Passenger Controls for Falcon 900B, Gulfstream GIV

Updated Panels Add HDMI, USB Charging With Drop-In Installation to Legacy Baker DECU

Alto Aviation unveiled its newest addition to its product lineup, this time adding a passenger control system for Dassault Falcon 900B and Gulfstream IV aircraft.

The new system addresses passenger control obsolescence across a range of aging aircraft, allowing owners and operators to upgrade existing control hardware to a more modern, useful set of features. The new Cadence replaces, in particular, older Baker DECU with a drop-in, easy retrofit. The Cadens is fit-compatible and does not require wood modifications for installation. The change adds USB-A or USB-C charging ports with 15 watt, 3 amp output, allowing passengers to use their own devices throughout the flight without worry. Often, the installation can use existing wiring, pending circuit breaker review. Alto notes that they called in the aircraft power supply experts, using True Blue Power’s TA-202, which comes with a lifetime warranty should the worst occur.

Stylistic options allow installers to tailor the look to the cabin, with clear or black anodized bezels available. Wireless bluetooth headphones are available, allowing for a more streamlined, uncluttered and upscale atmosphere. The old Baker systems locked passengers into only one entertainment source throughout the flight, but the freewheeling connectability of modern media connectors allow anyone to share their devices however they see fit.

“Alto saw an opportunity to provide customers with a viable alternative to the obsolete Baker DECU,” said vice president of sales & marketing Kevin Hayes. “This Alto solution transforms a nonfunctional unit into a customer-valued added USB-A or USB-C charging port. Utilizing ALTO’s direct fit-compatible approach, the Cadence replacement fits into the same cutout and may use the same wiring that powered the DECU unit. In addition, the replacement is installation-friendly and increases user value by adding the USB charging within the same profile.”

The first production units are expected to be available by September 2022.
