Corpus Christi International Seeks Input On GA Services

FBOs Reaching the Ends Of Their Contracts

The Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) is asking members of the aviation community to participate in a survey about the services they require when either using or contemplating the use of the airport. The results of the survey will be used in shaping the future of FBOs at the airport.

The airport currently has two FBOs operating on the airfield; Atlantic Aviation and Signature Flight Support. Both companies are operating under long term contracts that have either expired and are now on a month to month basis, or will soon expire. At the end of the existing contracts, ownership of the facilities reverts back to the airport.

Airport management has made a commitment to solicit input from current and potential stakeholders in order to define the future arrangements for providing FBO services at CCIA. The airport has developed the survey as the vehicle for soliciting this input and is in the process of distributing the survey to the broadest market possible. This includes current tenants and subtenants of the existing FBO operators, past customers, potential customers, the airlines, and other stakeholders in the aviation community.

In a news release, the city of Corpus Christi said that airport management will be putting together Requests for Qualifications and Proposals for each operation and will be seeking qualified operators to provide the outlined services.

The survey is available on line and can be accessed by clicking on the FBO Survey button at the top of the home page. The results of the survey will be compiled and posted on the airport web site after May 15, 2011.
