Sky Connect Obtains STCs for Bell and Sikorsky Helicopters

Sky Connect has earned two STCs to Sky Connect LLC which permit installations of Sky Connect equipment on two popular series of helicopters – the Bell 206B, L-1, L-3, and L-4 aircraft and the Sikorsky S-76 (models A thru C). Currently, more than 150 service facilities are authorized to install Sky Connect equipment worldwide.

“This is a great step forward for our rapidly growing company and makes it even easier for customers to choose Sky Connect for their missions,” said Wiley Loughran, senior vice president of sales and marketing. Loughran said that the STCs include Sky Connect’s newest control head called the Mission Management Unit, which provides flight crews with two-way text messaging and unlimited phone calling capabilities.

More than 2,000 aircraft around the world are flying with Sky Connect equipment.

An STC is the document issued by the FAA certifying that a product may be installed on an aircraft as an approved modification to the aircraft’s original type certification. Sky Connect offers a range of satellite-based tracking, text messaging, and telephone systems for airborne, ground-based, and marine applications in both the commercial and government markets.
