Partnership will Embark on Curriculum Development for Better, Safer CFIs
The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) is now offering its repository of aeronautical safety and teaching info through a partnership deal with the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation (BHLF) and Aero-News Network.

The arrangement will bring the wealth of knowledge held in SAFE’s library of educational material through broadcast on regular Aero-News programming. Throughout the series, the career of legendary aviator Bob Hoover will function as a throughline between lessons and topics, touching on aspects of his lengthy career to impart CFI essentials. SAFE will also embark on a curriculum of its own, with video resources, class materials, and online support for the industry’s upcoming generation of flight instructors. Special attention to teaching skills will be paid throughout the course, keeping the flight curriculum grounded on the most important skill of a professional CFI.
“It is an immense honor for SAFE to help carry forward Bob’s life mission of building professionalism in aviation and improving flight safety,” said David St. George, SAFE Executive Director.” “Every CFIs must embrace these goals since they are the ‘primary aviation influencers’ building all our future pilots. The SAFE CFI-PRO™ program provides resources that elevate CFIs from good to great given the proper commitment. This added effort improves flight training quality and each pilot’s future safety.”

Aero-News founder Jim Campbell has been integral to the effort, bringing all three entities to the table for this new endeavor. He’s had a busy year since taking up the mantle of Executive Director at the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation, and 2023 is shaping up even busier with the new partnership. "The Foundation and ANN simply could not have partnered with anyone with greater resources, dedication, and expertise in this oh-so-critical aspect of the aviation community. We've come to know the staff and members at SAFE after nearly a decade of working with them on some special projects. Building a formal partnership for the future is an exciting way for us all to give back even more to the aviation community that is facing the challenges of progress, bureaucracy, and new technology at a breath-taking pace."
