Great Lakes Aviation Conference Grows

Adds additional events for 2005 and sets schedule

The planning committee for the Great Lakes International Aviation Conference in Lansing, Michigan has just finalized the schedule for the 2005 event.  This year the Conference is pleased to announce the addition of the Airport Managers and FBO Expo, and additional sessions and exhibits tailored to professional pilots, 135 operators and corporate flight departments.

"The GLIAC has become one of the most complete and comprehensive events of its kind," according to Phil Tartalone, Michigan Bureau of Aeronautics.  "The addition of the Thursday and Friday sessions is a natural progression for the conference.  We have had many requests, from throughout the Midwest, asking for sessions and exhibits tailored to professional and business aviation needs."

The Great Lakes International Aviation Conference offers three packed days of exhibits, general sessions and topic-specific instructional sessions.

  • Over 120,000 square feet of exhibit space and presentation rooms
  • 75 airport and FBO sessions
  • 80 IA renewal sessions on Friday and Saturday, offering eight hours of training each day
  • 125 pilot sessions, covering almost every topic from owner maintenance to the latest and greatest techniques and products
  • Two great dinners
  • The best speaker lineup in the nation

The 2005 event will present the following featured speakers:

  • John and Martha King
  • Rod Machado
  • Cathe' Fish
  • Julie Clark
  • Greg Feith

According to Todd Smith, coordinator of the event, the exhibitor signup for next year's conference has been brisk.  "Our 2004 event was an outstanding success!  Our attendance numbers were very good, and overall, the 130 exhibitors found it to be a 'must exhibit' type of event.  We saw eight airplanes and one helicopter sold at last year's show.  Cessna, Cirrus, Mooney, Lancair and Robinson had a great presence at the conference center.  We began taking applications for exhibit space and session presenters late last week, and over 20 exhibitors registered during the first few days."

The Great Lakes International Aviation Conference will be held January 20 - 22, 2005 in Lansing, Michigan.  Additional information can be obtained through their links below or by calling (248) 348-6942.
