Gannon University Offers Aviation & Business Management Major

Combined Biz/Flight Degree Prepares Students for Growing Industry

Gannon University, a Pennsylvania college, has unveiled a combination bachelor's degree in Aviation & Business Management.

The new program "enables you to soar to new heights within the global and dynamic $150 billion aviation industry that employs more than 1.2 million people in the United States." Along the way, students snag incrementally more difficult and productive FAA licenses, leaving the program with up to a CFII Multi license in the pocket.

A shorter associate degree course will be available, too, for those on a time crunch. The degree will see business management instruction delivered by Gannon's Dahlkemper School of Business, with Fundamentals Flight Training providing the flight portion of the curriculum at the nearby Erie International Airport. Fundamentals boasts all the hits in the student pilot catalog, offering flight time in a Cessna 150, Piper Tomahawk, and Piper Arrow for their single engine training regimen. Fundamental also has a Redbird FMX Advanced Aviation Training Device at their Erie location, offering some cheaper IFR training opportunities while students work their way through procedures early on.

“At Gannon University, we're committed to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals,” said Sarah Ewing, Ph.D., Provost and Vice President for Student Experience. “Our program will equip students with the aeronautics knowledge and business acumen needed for success in a wide variety of roles. By mastering aviation principles, embracing modern technologies and honing effective communication skills, our graduates will be poised to make a lasting impact in the aviation industry and beyond.”

“This program not only addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals but also makes a tangible impact on the economy. Gannon is fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth both locally and nationally by producing well-trained graduates equipped to meet the needs of the aviation industry. The program's emphasis on practical training and industry-relevant skills ensures that graduates are ready to contribute meaningfully to the workforce from day one.”
