Pilot Training Network Trains Flight Instructors

Nine-Week Course Begins August 10

Holders of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL(A)) can now train to be a flight instructor in accordance with EASA requirements at Pilot Training Network GmbH (PTN), a subsidiary of Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH. The advanced course lasts a total of nine weeks. The first course starts on August 10, 2015.

As an effective additional qualification, the course offers young pilots in particular the opportunity to gain additional flight experience. Because of its relatively short duration of nine weeks the training is fully compatible with professional life. The training also represents a development opportunity for active pilots who would like to climb the ranks at an airline as an SFI (Synthetic Flight Instructor) or TRI (Type Rating Instructor). These two training programs can be shortened by obtaining flight instructor certification.

To start the training, potential applicants need a Commercial Pilot License (CPL(A)), Instrument Rating (IR), an EASA Class 1 medical certificate and a valid Single Engine Piston rating (SEP PIC). The course is taught in English. The theoretical phase of the training takes place in Frankfurt and the flight phase in Rostock-Laage.
