Duncan Aviation Wants To Hire Summer Interns

Opportunity For Students To Gain Hands-On Experience

Duncan Aviation has 33 student summer internship opportunities at the company’s three full-service facilities in Battle Creek, Michigan; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Provo, Utah. These paid internships allow students to learn more about the company and explore possible career paths in business aviation service and support.

Internships, listed on the company’s career page, are being offered in Airframe, Engine, Install, and Interior production departments.

A Duncan Aviation internship is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experiences in production and learn how to apply what they have learned in technical school to the real world. At a time when many organizations canceled student internship programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Duncan Aviation continued to work closely with several technical schools welcoming 14 interns during the 2020 summer.

“Our internship program is a paid opportunity in which students get to experience a new location for the summer and network with others in the industry,” says Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist Jennifer Monroe.

“It plays a critical role in the recruitment and development of future Duncan Aviation technicians. One of the most valuable benefits of the program is once interns get the chance to experience Duncan Aviation’s culture, they are sold on the company and want to stay. We have had many long-term hires result from this program.”

When interns come to Duncan Aviation, they are treated like any other new hire. They participate in a 2-day orientation class to receive a solid understanding of the company and culture. They are placed on teams, paired with a mentor, and given actual projects to work on. By pairing the interns with experienced technicians, they get a chance to build relationships and learn at a deeper level, expanding on what they have learned in the classroom. In addition, they are held to the same standards and expectations as full-time Duncan Aviation team members.
