AgustaWestland Says First Italian Pilots Meeting A Success

Over 50 Corporate Pilots Attended Conference

The first AgustaWestland Italian Corporate Pilot Conference was held at the Company's Cascina Costa facility in mid-January, and was deemed a great success by those attending.

The event was attended by over 50 corporate pilots -- almost all of them flying AgustaWestland helicopter types, according to the company -- and provided a forum for both the company and pilots to discuss and exchange views on operational, product and safety matters.

During the workshop-based conference, opened by Giuseppe Orsi, CEO, and Renzo Lunardi, Senior Vice President Commercial Business Unit, AgustaWestland presented the latest changes to its Commercial Business Unit and Customer Support organizations' processes intended to further enhance the services and responsiveness to customers in the corporate sector.

Other topics discussed during the Conference comprised performance and safety issues related to Category 'A' operations, training, new technologies, product developments, regulatory issues and the latest customization options.

The two-day conference also involved other company sites in Italy including Vergiate where final assembly of the AW109 Power, Grand and AW139 helicopters is located and Sesto Calende the home of the AgustaWestland 'Training Academy.'

The success of this event has already led to the establishment by attendees of the 'AgustaWestland Italian Corporate Pilot Club' to allow them to continue to exchange information on operational issues and other areas of common interest.
