North Korea Holds Its First Air Show

Scale Models Of U.S. And Chinese Military Planes Entertain Crowds

North Korea held its first-ever Air Show that featured scale models of the F-16 and Chinese J-10 fighter aircraft.

The scale models flew on the second day of the Wonsan International Friendship Air Festival at the city's newly-renovated airport, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The event was intended to showcase tourism in Wonsan. The show also included a rare public display of North Korea's MiG-29 and SU-25 fighters. There were also military skydiving displays.

On the first day of the show, there was an aerobatic demonstration made by a Hughes MD 500 military-capable helicopter, which has raised questions about possible violations of International trade sanctions against North Korea.
