PSSST! Hey Kid. Wanna Buy A Used Harrier Jet?

He Did, But Dad Made Him Give It Back

For just a little while, a 7-year-old boy was the proud "owner" of a surplus Harrier jet he'd bought for $113,000 on eBay.

A real one. Harrier Jump Jet T-Bird XW269.

But then, reality set in, in the form of dad. Gizmodo reports that the boy's father called Jet Art Aviation, which was selling the airplane, and explained to them that his son was not authorized to buy a surplus jet. They understandingly put the airplane back on the auction block.

And it's probably just as well. The RAF plane hasn't flown since 1997, and restoration to flying condition for whomever buys it would probably run in the millions. That kind of money buys a lot of college.
