AD: Airbus Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2013-17-02

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus Model A318-112, A319-111, A319-112, A319-115, A319-132, and A319-133 airplanes.
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2013-17-02
ACTION: Final Rule

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by a report that a fastener, which connects the cargo door keel beam foot to the circumferential butt-strap and the section 13-14 lower shell panel, was not installed on airplanes during production.

This AD requires inspecting forward fuselage frame 24, stringer 39, right hand, to determine if the fastener is missing; measuring the hole dimensions of the five holes surrounding the missing fastener if necessary; and doing related investigative and corrective actions if necessary.

The FAA is issuing this AD to detect and correct the missing fastener, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane.

DATES: This AD becomes effective January 6, 2014.
