EAA's Young Eagles Closing In On Goal

Almost One Million Young Enthusiasts Served

By the end of last week, the EAA Young Eagles program had registered some 965,000 kids for the program that introduces them to aviation. That means the organization is just 36,000 shy of reaching its ultimate goal of one million members.

While 36,000 doesn't sound like a huge number - especially in comparison to 964,000 kids already flown - EAA says time is growing short and it needs to take advantage of the good weather while it lasts.

"I'd like to encourage all Young Eagle pilots to take advantage of the fall flying season and take a few Young Eagles for a flight," said EAA Young Eagles Director Steve Buss. "The sooner we can complete our mission, the sooner we can celebrate this incredible accomplishment and begin looking toward the future of the Young Eagles program."

Young Eagles has been a huge undertaking led by EAA members and Chapter volunteers. Without their support, the program would not exist. "It is an amazing program and one that could only be accomplished through the dedication of EAA members throughout the world," Buss said.
