TSA Grants Six 'Access Certificates'

TSA 'Approves' Six Air Businesses; More Step Up

The NBAA seems happy that the first six TSA Access Certificates (TSAACs) have been signed off by pensioned Vice Adm. John E. Shkor, TSA COO. Later this week, NBAA President Jack Olcott will present the TSAACs to the Part 91 operators participating in the program, all of whom are NBAA Members based at Teterboro Airport (TEB) in New Jersey.

Initially, these TSAAC holders will serve as security proof-of-concept examples as they conduct international flights without traditional TSA international waivers and, ultimately, have access to selected temporary flight restriction (TFR) airspace.

"These TSAAC participants represent just the first of those who will be recognized as business aviation's most progressive and secure operators," said NBAA President Jack Olcott. "By issuing these certificates, the Department of Homeland Security is acknowledging their excellent security protocol."
