Two New Distinctions Added To The Program
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) announces a call for nominations to recognize the individuals, offices and organizations demonstrating excellence in their fields and the highest levels of customer service to the general aviation community. This year, the Association added two new honors to its slate of Industry Excellence Awards: the FBO Customer Service Representative (CSR) Award and the Future Leader Award.
The Industry Excellence Awards, along with the AMT Employer Awards, will be presented at a luncheon held during NATA’s Annual Meeting and Aviation Business Conference on June 17-19, 2019 in Washington, D.C.
"NATA’s awards luncheon is the highest-attended event during our Annual Meeting and Aviation Business Conference. We are honored to continue highlighting individuals and companies that positively impact the aviation business community. The success of the awards program is largely based on peer recognition and we’re excited to offer additional opportunities for our members to commend colleagues they admire and respect," stated Karissa Uko, Director of Events.
NATA members may submit nominations for the following awards:
The inaugural FBO CSR Award will acknowledge the valuable impact FBO CSRs have on the success of our industry exceeding client expectations and maintaining organizational performance and safety goals.
NATA created the Future Leader Award to encourage and recognize aviation business professionals who make significant contributions to our industry and serve as guiding lights for the next generation. This award is given to an individual, who has shown outstanding promise, passion and professionalism within the general aviation community.
- The Airport Executive Partnership Award is given to an airport manager for outstanding efforts to nurture the relationships between aviation businesses and airport operators.
- The ATP/NATA General Aviation Service Technician Award acknowledges the exceptional performance of a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic or radio repairman who has practiced his or her craft for a period of 20 or more years.
- The Excellence In Pilot Training Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions in safety, professionalism, leadership and excellence in the field of pilot training.
- The Safety 1st Certified Line Service Professional Award is granted to an individual for the positive impact he or she had on safety, service and business success.
- The Aviation Maintenance Technician Employer Award is presented to aviation maintenance organizations that encourage and support aviation maintenance technician (AMT) training.
The 2017-2018 NATA Industry Excellence Awards winners were:
- Airport Executive Partnership Award – Juan E. Rivera, Airport Director, Manassas Regional Airport
- ATP/NATA General Aviation Service Technician Award – George Terry, VP Director of Maintenance, Corporate Eagle
- Excellence In Pilot Training Award – Janine Schwahn, Chief Instructor, Summit Aviation
- Safety 1st Certified Line Service Professional Award – Henry L. Graves III, Line Technician, APP Jet Center Manassas
