Weekend of Wright Stuff

AF Chief of Staff Flies in Replica of Oldest Military Plane

General Jumper shows why he's such a favorite with the troops (and why he can't get private insurance).

A Wright B Flyer ground crew member helps Gen. John P. Jumper, Air Force chief of staff, strap into a replica of the Wright brothers first production airplane June 21. Pilot John Warlick, dressed in an Army Air Corps uniform, sits alongside ready for the ride. Jumper was here to speak to the national convention of the Order of the Daedalians. His visit to Dayton Wright Brothers Airport is a part of the Centennial of Flight festivities.
