Sacramento Terminal Shut Down When Security Checkpoint Left Unattended

Five People Reportedly Went Through Unscreened

A metal detector at Sacramento International Airport Terminal B was reportedly left unattended for less than a minute Saturday, and five people got through the security checkpoint without being screened.

The incident caused the terminal to be shut down temporarily as TSA went in search of the five passengers, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. All five were found and brought back to the checkpoint for re-screening.

TSA spokesperson Ann Davis said the terminal was closed for about an hour while the issue was sorted out. Davis said the TSA officers involved were removed from screening duty and will be required to complete additional training.
