Dassault Falcon 50 Destroyed By Suspicious Fire In Canada

Authorities Found A Hole Cut In The Airport Fence And Tracks In The Sno Leading To The Airplane

A Dassault Falcon 50 jet was destroyed by a fire that is being called suspicious late last week at Buttonville Airport in Markham, Ontario Canada.

The CBC reports that fire crews responded to a call about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to York Regional Police. They arrived to find the jet engulfed in flames.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the plane was heavily damaged. No injuries were reported.

Investigators discovered that a hole had been cut in the airport perimeter fence, fresh tracks in the snow leading to the airplane, and an empty jerrycan at the base of the airplane's boarding stairs.

The plane had apparently been parked at Buttonville for some time, but it was unclear how long it had been there. Investigators are working to determine who owned the plane.
