Yeager Claims Kids Have The Wrong Stuff... His Pension

Sues His Children Over Control Of Finances

Former Air Force General Chuck Yeager -- the man with the "Right Stuff" -- is suing his children. Yeager has filed a federal lawsuit saying his four grown kids deliberately underfunded his pension, so they could keep some of the money themselves.

The suit -- filed in Sacramento federal court last Thursday -- doesn't mention just how much Yeager thinks his kids stole from him.

"We think there are many, many hundreds of thousands of dollars diverted from him," Yeager's lawyer, George A Roberts, told the Sacramento Bee.

The whole thing apparently started shortly after Yeager, 83, became engaged to 45-year old Victoria Scott D'Angelo in 2003. Court documents say she was worried that Yeager was being left out of the decision-making process when it came to his finances.

"Victoria felt they needed to ask for an accounting," Roberts said.

The younger Yeagers sued, saying D'Angelo was trying to alienate them from their father, so she could get her hands on his estate. At one point, Yeager's oldest daughter, Susan -- who's been managing the family fortune -- was ordered in court to repay the estate $915,000 for selling one of the general's properties without his consent. She's now appealing that decision.

This latest in that long series of lawsuits accuses the four Yeager children of conspiracy, negligent accounting practices, and breach of fiduciary duty. So far... nobody involved is saying very much about the case.
