SpaceX Pushes Satellite Launch To July

Delay Will Give Engineers Time To Iron Out Technical Issues

SpaceX has pushed its pending multi-payload launch until early July, according to the company.

Florida Today reports that, according to company engineers, an unspecified "potential issue" has cropped up with the Falcon 9 booster, and the delay would give the company time to evaluate the problem and correct it if needed.

The company had said the mission could have been attempted as late as Tuesday, and had planned to leave the rocket at Launch Complex 40 in anticipation of a launch this week. But The Air Force has closed the Eastern Range for maintenance, work that has been delayed several times.

When it launches, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry six Orbcom Generation 2 satellites into low Earth orbit.
