Airborne 10.12.23: New Phenom 100EX, Airbus Flt Controls, PC24 Updated

Embraer has unveiled the Phenom 100EX.

The $5-million (approximately) Phenom 100EX is powered by a pair of 1,730-lbf-thrust Pratt & Whitney twin-spool, reverse-flow-combustor, dual-channel FADEC-controlled PW617F1-E engines which motivate the little jet to a Vne of Mach 0.70, a high-speed cruise of 406-knots (Mach 0.60), and a service-ceiling of FL410. Airbus Helicopters's demonstrator FlightLab has successfully tested an electric flight control system salient to a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) destined for installation on the company’s CityAirbus NextGen eVTOL prototype. The milestone test occasioned an important step toward the advent of electric-powered Urban Air Mobility (UAM) aircraft. Pilatus has upped the full-fuel and maximum payloads of its proven and popular PC-24 light business jet by an impressive six-hundred-pounds. The increase facilitates a 200 NM increase to the aircraft’s six-passenger range. Beginning with new aircraft delivered in 2024, the full-fuel, single-pilot payload of Pilatus’s PC-24 will be raised to 1,315-pounds. The aircraft’s maximum payload capacity will be increased to 3,100-pounds. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
