Bombardier Appoints New Commercial Aircraft President

Mike Arcamone Begins His New Assignment February 1st

Bombardier Aerospace announced Thursday the appointment of Michele (Mike) Arcamone as President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft effective February 1, 2012. Mr. Arcamone succeeds Gary R. Scott, who retired on October 1, 2011. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Mike Arcamone to Bombardier Aerospace,” said Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. “Mike comes to us with a brilliant track record throughout his 30-year career in the automotive industry. He brings a unique background of international experience to our team. His hands-on leadership approach and wealth of experience in operations and program management will benefit our Commercial Aircraft business unit, especially as we drive towards bringing the CSeries aircraft to market.”

A native of Montréal, Québec, Mr. Arcamone (pictured) most recently held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, GM Korea, based in Seoul, where he was accountable for a multi-billion dollar organization with export sales to 150 customers. Since joining General Motors in 1980, Mr. Arcamone successfully delivered multiple large-scale projects and developed a global perspective through his leadership roles in North America, Europe and, in particular, Asia, which
is also a key growth region for Bombardier. Mr. Arcamone completed his undergraduate studies at Concordia University and holds a diploma in Management from McGill University.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead Bombardier’s Commercial Aircraft business unit and excited to be returning to my home country,” said Mike Arcamone. “While I am new to the Aerospace industry, I am joining a strong and knowledgeable leadership team, and our combined expertise will ensure the long-term prosperity of this business unit. We are at a pivotal moment, both in ensuring the continued success of the Q400 NextGen and CRJ NextGen aircraft and in moving towards the testing and production of the CSeries aircraft. I look forward to putting my knowledge and experience to work and delivering on our commitments to our stakeholders,” he said. (Image provided by Bombardier)
