Make Plans Now For Chilhowee Oktoberfest

It's coming up -- fall, when the leaves start to turn, the weather cools down and the gliders gather at Chilhowee, TN.

Sailplanes and their owners from all over the eastern United States will flock to Chilhowee Gliderport for the annual Chilhowee Oktoberfest, which runs October 14th-16th this year.

Chilhowee Gliderport, a turf airfield, is located on US Hwy 411 four miles north of Benton TN, and is about 13 miles southeast from the paved airport w/fuel at Athens-McMinn County Airport -- home of the Swift Museum.

Organizers say they'll be entertained by folk singer Ed Kilbourne, share delicious evening cookouts, camp out, and do a little hangar flying around the campfire.
