Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, and Snowbirds Make Rare Joint Airshow Appearance

Jet Demo Teams Return to Huntington Beach with SoCal Flair

After a 2020 hiatus, this year's Pacific Airshow is back in its sunny Southern California home.

For only the second time in history, three of the world's best Jet Demonstration teams will make an appearance together as they vie for the audience's affections. The USAF Thunderbirds, the US Navy Blue Angels, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will perform alongside an expansive slate of exhibition aircraft. Bird watchers will be eager to see the Blue Angel's new F/A-18 Super Hornets, as they perform for their 75th anniversary, with their Canadian competitors celebrating their 50th. 

The newest fighter in government service, the F-35 Lightning II will make an appearance in both A and C models, with the F-35A team being led by notable commander Major Kristin Wolfe. Other interesting warbirds, a T-28 Trojan, a B-52 Stratofortress, B-25, EA-18G Growlers, and the Marine's demonstration MV-22 Osprey will make their appearances as well. 

The taxpayers' aircraft are not alone, joined by a complement of aerobatic, racing, and even hospital aircraft for demonstration to the biggest airshow crowds in the United States. Aviation nerds won't have to coax their friends and family into attending, as the three-day weekend includes an Ocean Cup Record attempt, a race around Catalina Island, wingsuit and parachute demonstrations, and a music festival conveniently masquerading as an after party. On Friday, Oct 1, headliner Sammy Hagar & The Circle perform, additional acts interspersed with Red Bull's Air Force jump team.
