Enstrom Helicopter Reports Progress On Expansion

Assembly Line Keeping Up With Increased Production While Construction Continues

After breaking ground on its planned expansion on May 10, Enstrom Helicopter says that it is making good progress on the new facilities.

On its website, the company says that to date, underground plumbing and two-thirds of the north side expansion floors have been poured. New sewer service has been connected to the plant. The fiberglass shop has temporarily been moved until the new fiberglass shop is complete.

The training center has been demolished, and the fiberglass shop is set to be demolished this week. The west side of the expansion is being prepared currently. The foundation work will continue on the west side of the building along with the plumbing.

The company says that in order to complete the expansion program, the building in which the company was started will have to be torn down. But, they say, in the expansion, the location where the original building stood will have different colored tiles outlining where original the building was located.

Enstrom president and CEO Jerry Mullins told the Green Bay Press Gazette that sales in Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand have driven the need for the expansion. When it is complete, Enstrom will be in a position to produce 100 helicopters per year, which is nearly four times the current rate.
