Epic Fight Academy Launches New A&P School at CVG

Epic Flight Academy Opens New Mechanic School at CVG

Epic Flight Academy has officially launched its new aircraft mechanic school at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), marking a significant advancement in aviation training and workforce development in Kentucky.

The opening of this $8 million, 32,000-square-foot training facility was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by staff, students, and dignitaries.

This new FAA Part 147-certified school is poised to address the growing demand for qualified airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanics. Upon completing the program, students will be eligible to become FAA-certified A&P mechanics, a credential that opens up substantial career opportunities directly within the aviation industry.

Governor Andy Beshear highlighted the importance of such educational initiatives for Kentucky's economy, stating that workforce development is crucial for community and economic growth. The school is expected to serve as a vital resource, equipping Kentuckians with the skills needed for high-paying, skilled jobs in aviation maintenance.

Danny Perna, CEO and founder of Epic Flight Academy, expressed his enthusiasm for the project and its potential to fulfill students' aspirations in aviation careers. He noted that the inaugural class of approximately 20 students is a significant step toward growing the academy's impact.

Candace McGraw, CEO of CVG, welcomed the new school, emphasizing the critical role of aircraft mechanics in the industry and expressing optimism about the academy's future contributions to the region. Meanwhile, Cam Murphy, president of FEAM Aero, affirmed the strategic importance of this collaboration in fostering a capable aviation maintenance workforce.

The school not only promises to enhance the technical skills of its students through practical, hands-on training in aircraft engine work and equipment repair but also underscores a collective commitment among aviation leaders to support and expand the industry's workforce capabilities at CVG and beyond. This development represents a forward-thinking approach to aviation training, promising to shape the future landscape of the industry in the region.
