DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase Looks To Make 2020 A Positive Year For SportAv

Organization Is Committed To Making DSAS2020 A 'Safe Event'

The fifth iteration of the Annual DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase has its work cut out for it. After a year of cancellations, losses, and aero-economic disappointment, DSAS2020 may be the sport aviation industry's first and last best hope to finish 2020 on a positive note.

The staff, city and the airport have all given this year's event, scheduled for November 12-14, 2020, the green light to proceed -- and have high hopes for being able to offer the sport aviation community a step-up after months of challenges to the aviation world.

With years of service to the sport aviation community under her belt, DSAS Boss Jana Filip has aggressively recommitted the event and her staff and volunteers to building a solid foundation from which the 'Aero-Verse' can start its recovery from the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

'This is going to be, first and foremost, a safe event... and when I say 'safe' I mean that in terms of a healthy environment, good facilities, carefully planned flying operations and ground ops. Thankfully; the industry is responding so very well, already, to our plans. We have quite a number of important exhibitors already committed to the show, and advance interest is growing nicely. We have very high expectations for this year and for the good we can do for all our friends in the sport aviation industry. Sport Aviation needs a 'win' for 2020 and we plan to deliver!"

The 2019 event surpassed expectations with 26 new vendors and exhibitors, and an increase in attendance with a number of new and exciting features leading the way to a successful event, even when dealing with occasional rain and cooler temperatures.

The Showcase is held at the DeLand Municipal Airport (KDED) in DeLand, Florida. The Showcase welcomes all aviation enthusiasts interested in affordable recreational flying, offering a special emphasis on experimentals, homebuilts, light-sport aircraft and ultralights.  The show features outdoor and indoor exhibitors, youth education, educational forums, interactive workshops, with live music (by the Flying Musicians) and food concessions on-site. Special events happen daily - STOL Exhibition, Showcase Flights, Keynote Speakers and more!
