If your aircraft is equipped with a Garmin GNS430 series navigators and you would like to upgrade to something newer, Avidyne says they have just the thing for you.

The FAA has issued TSO approval and an Approved Model List Supplemental Type Certificate to Avidyne for their new IFD440. The IFD440 is the smaller-screen version of Avidyne's previously-certified IFD540, and is designed as an easy plug-and-play, direct replacement for GNS430 series navigators. The AML-STC provides a basis for installation approval of the IFD440 in more than 1,000 aircraft makes and models. Last week, FAA Deputy Administrator Michael Whitaker testified about UAV regulatory progress before the House Oversight Committee. He said, "The rule will be in place within a year; hopefully before June 17, 2016." In his written testimony Whitaker said, "We must ensure that our resources are directed to the areas with the highest safety risk. We will need to expand collaborative, data-driven processes with the UAS industry to improve safety and streamline process in areas such as certification.” ONE Aviation has announced that the Eclipse 550 will now come standard with a comprehensive
