PHI Adds Airbus Helicopters Into Service In Australia

Two H175s Will Support Multiple Roles

PHI Aviation in Australia has placed two Airbus H175 helicopters into service and will be based out of the company’s Broome location in Western Australia. More H175s will be added to the fleet in the future.

Cory Latiolais, PHI Aviation Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific said, “These state-of-the-art aircraft are a significant addition to our growing fleet in Australia. They elevate our operational capabilities while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable innovation and delivering world-class service to our clients.

Christian Venzal, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Australia and New Zealand added, “We are pleased to support our long-term customer PHI Aviation with delivery of the H175 helicopters for their current Australian fleet. The high performance of the H175 aircraft in the challenging Western Australian environment is an excellent addition for the PHI Aviation fleet, especially with their focus on search and rescue operations, and marine transfers.”

PHI also operates bases in Darwin and Exmouth, among others. The H175 is a super-medium class utility helicopter that has the performance, payload capacity, and range that are needed for long-distance transportation across Western Australia. It also has the lowest vibration and sound signature in its class, the advanced Helionix safety systems, and the comfort and safety for passengers on extended flights. The helicopter can also be configured with a hoist for cargo or search and rescue as well as a medical interior for emergency evacs from offshore oil platforms.
