Aviation Days Expo Kicks Off Airshow Year

Free, End of Month Show Draws GA Fans to Florida

The third annual Aviation Days EXPO will be held at the Charlotte County Airport (PGD) in Punta Gorda (FL)  on January 31st and February 1st. The EXPO is free to the public, and is intended to entertain and inform the local public about the world of general aviation.

Gary Quill, Executive Director of the Charlotte County Airport comments, "We’re really excited about this year’s program.  It’s the perfect free Saturday family outing where everyone in the community can enjoy the airplanes and pilots can attend special seminars to hone their skills and learn about the latest in hi-tech aviation. The airport is vital to the future job growth in the area and the EXPO showcases us as the most business friendly airport in Florida."

Jim Kantor, President of Eastern Avionics International said, "The Aviation Days EXPO will attract pilots and aviation companies from all over the country. It’s the first major general aviation event of 2003."

Friday is perfect for those that want to learn to fly, those exploring careers in general aviation, pilots that want to learn about the latest breakthroughs in general aviation, and companies looking to locate their businesses at the Charlotte County Airport and Commerce Park. Over 20 general aviation companies will exhibit and conduct seminars on the latest aircraft and technology.

Displays, Exhibits, Seminars, GA planes, Antiques, Warbirds, Young Eagles rides, Fly market -- the whole shebang!

On Saturday, the entire local community, as well as all pilots and their families are invited. A wide variety of activities and attractions include Airport Tours, Special Production and Kit Aircraft Displays, Aircraft and Jet Fly-Bys, Antique Aircraft Displays, Restored WW2 Aircraft from Pilot Trainers to large B-17 and B-24 bombers, Air Ambulance Jet Tours, Vintage Military Vehicle Displays, free (EAA) Young Eagles airplane rides to children from 8-17 yrs., Charlotte County Sheriff Aviation Division Helicopters, Gyrocopter Display, Ultralight Recreational Aircraft Display, Radio Controlled Aircraft, FREE “Aviation Flea Market”, FREE "Aircraft for Sale" area, Antique Car Display and much more!  Exhibit booths will be open and pilot seminars will be held all day. The FAA is conducting a special “Wings” pilot safety seminar on Saturday.  Special media coverage and live remote radio broadcasts are being planned for Friday evening and Saturday.

The Charlotte County Airport Authority, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 565, The Charlotte County Airport Tenants Association, and Eastern Avionics Intl., Inc sponsor the EXPO.
