EASA Awards STC For Cessna 208 Blackhawk With 4-Blade MT-Propeller

FAA Authorization Currently Pending

EASA has awarded an STC to MT-Propeller for its next generation 4-blade scimitar composite propeller on the Cessna 208, 208B Blackhawk.

An FAA STC is currently pending.

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says, that the installation will increase cruise speed by 3 knots; reduce noise both inside and outside the airplane; and reduce empty weight by 35 pounds compared to the OEM propeller.

Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller, the Cessna 208 Blackhawk has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion. The natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation, and are repairable if they are damaged.

The company says it also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
