ATSG Offers Converted 767s for Lease

Israeli Aerospace Industries Delivers Newest Carrier-to-Frieighter Conversion

Air Transport Services Group has added a pair of freshly converted Boeing 767-300 freighters to their fleet of leases, completed by Israel Aerospace Industries.

The aircraft will be overseen by ATSG’s subsidiary, Cargo Aircraft Management. Both will first be leased to Amerijet International, a lessee with 9 other company aircraft in their fleet.  The 767-300s are based on former passenger-spec aircraft, overhauled to give it a new lease on life. 

“Today we acknowledge an important milestone in the history of our company,” said Paul Chase, chief commercial officer of ATSG, “a milestone that signifies not only our ability to execute on a clear corporate vision, but also demonstrates yet another step we’ve taken to establish ourselves as the global leader in freighter leasing.”

The leadership teams of ATSG and Amerijet addressed employees of ATSG subsidiaries, thanking them for their accomplishments and referencing the companies' shared histories.

“The strategic program we are celebrating today is not just a plan for the future,” continued Chase, “but a roadmap to our continued success. It reflects our commitment to our customers, our employees, and our shareholders. It is a testament to our ability to adapt, innovate, and lead in a rapidly changing world.”

In Israel Aerospace Industries product nomenclature, the conversion is called the “767-300BDSF BEDEK Special Freighter”. It’s touted as an aircraft that can tackle anything from small parcel delivery to heavy freight on routes around the globe. The BEDEK holds STC approvals from all the big names in aviation certification, from CAAI, EASA, and the FAA, with more approvals elsewhere. The end result of their converted 767 gives operators reduced fuel burn, current-gen avionics, and reduced maintenance costs,  for a buy-in far cheaper than a new production Boeing freighter. To date, IAI has completed more than 180 conversions for 767 200 and 300s, with more than 120 -300 BDSFs delivered so far.
