More Stupid Pilot Tricks

Lucky For Him Lynch Mobs Outlawed

A celebration in Logan, Utah was rudely interrupted by water balloons falling from a small plane last Saturday and Sunday. A 21-year-old man admitted he had flown the plane to local police after he was caught at the airport Logan-Cache Airport.

The post-Cruise-In celebration had thousands of people doing just that... Cruising Main Street and hanging out around their cars. Late Saturday night, a small plane reportedly made two passes dropping water balloons over the Smith's Marketplace parking lot at an altitude of just a few hundred feet.

Logan City Police Lt. Rod Peterson told the Herald Journal that the pilot turned off all lights on the plane and decreased power to the engine as he flew over.

Officers responded to the airport, where they found a 21-year-old man, who claimed that he was not the pilot, and that he had been 'repairing emergency beacons.' After dispelling that lie by contacting the FAA, the police again talked to the man, who allegedly admitted to flying the plane. He claimed that the plane was having electrical problems that caused the lights to malfunction.

Peterson told the Herald Journal that no criminal charges had been filed against the pilot and that the investigation was being turned over to the FAA. Good thing he hadn't borrowed an airtanker.

Oh, and by the way, he doesn't have a pilot's license. Pulling a stunt like that should ensure that he never will.
