Vertical Aerospace Announces Strategy For Market Leadership

Sets Route For Journey From Prototype To Production

Vertical Aerospace has announced its “Flightpath 2030” detailing its strategy to achieve market leadership by the end of the decade.

The British company is advancing the flight test program for its piloted vehicle, the tiltrotor VX-4, its order book currently numbers 1,500 aircraft with total value of $6 billion. “Flightpath 2030” sets a clearly defined route from prototype to production, building on its progress to date and supported by flight test results with a full-sized prototype. In addition, positive engagement with the Civil Aviation Authority and solid planning by leadership will reinforce its efforts.

Elements of the strategic plan include:

  • Deliver at least 150 aircraft
  • Attain annual production of 200 VX4 units or more by Q4 2030
  • Planning for scale-up to 700+ aircraft per year in medium term
  • Position the company to become cash generative, with break-even by 2030
  • Certify the VX4 in 2028, with a major upgrade in 2030
