AeroGuard Advertises Addition of Southwest Airlines to Pathway Program Guarante

Guaranteed Interview Program Between SkyWest and Delta, Alaska, United, and Southwest Opens More Options for AeroGuard Students

AeroGuard Flight Training Center has announced a new partnership for flow-through career building at Southwest Airlines. 

AeroGuard's Guaranteed Pilot Interview Program, much like similar offerings throughout the flight training industry, allows for qualified students to build their experience, flight time, and track to land themselves in the right seat of a SkyWest Airlines jet. SkyWest Airlines has a similar agreement of its own with Delta, United, Alaska, and Southwest Airlines that allows SkyWest captains of 2+ years to receive a guaranteed pilot interview with each of the larger carriers. 

The addition of Southwest, through SkyWest, is just another sign of the times, as demand for pilots increases throughout the industry, and candidate creation lags behind demand. AeroGuard Flight Training Center says they're doing their part, offering a 'zero to hero' track that takes a willing, hardworking candidate with no flight time and no experience that eventually finishes their schooling at the academy as a commercial pilot with multiengine and CFII ratings. To build experience, qualified students can stay on with AeroGuard and instruct the next class of students until they hit the all-important 1,500 hours. 

AeroGuard says that the ATP experience requirement is doable in about 2.5 years from the start of their training, but such metrics depend heavily on student loads and the ratio of instructors available to teach them. Once at 1,500 hours, the AeroGuard instructor (née student) is owed a First Officer Final Interview with SkyWest, where, should they be hired, they can receive $17,500 worth of tuition reimbursement after completion of IOE. After a couple years with the airline and a promotion to captain, they can complete the next step of interviewing with the larger carriers.
