One Thousand RV-7s

Terry Small of Prescott, AZ has become the 1,000th customer to complete and fly an RV-7. His first flight brought the total number of RVs complete and flown to 7088.

Ten years of off/on construction were interrupted by a year in Afghanistan and five moves. But Terry stuck with it and on December 5, 2010 his RV-7 N174TD, took to the air. "What ... a wonderful magic carpet ride." Terry says." I owe special thanks to my son, who began the project with me and many times countered that 'what have I gotten myself into' look on my face, and another thank you to my lovely fiance, who was always there with help."

Since its introduction in 2000, the RV-7 and its sibling, the tricycle gear RV-7A, have become one of the best selling kit aircraft in history. At least 3000 more are under construction all over the world.
