FlightSimExpo 2024 Starts Today!

New Releases, Presentations Give Simmers Something to Savor Over the Summer

The Flight Simulation Association will be putting on its FlightSimExpo 2024 in Las Vegas from June 21st to the 23rd, giving those in the hobby a chance to see the best and brightest from across the sim industry.

The Association has been hard at work in recent years, gaining ground in bridging the gap between a thriving culture in the computer gaming and simulation industry, and the greater aviation umbrella. Simming remains one of the most accessible, affordable pathways into the hobby of flight, giving kids and prospective students a realistic enough demo of what it's like to take to the air in command of an aircraft. Once again, the Association is holding a 3-day expo for all things Flight Simulation, allowing developers to show off new aircraft, new textures, new weather systems, and new high-fidelity renditions of complex aircraft.

This year more than 15 developer updates and new product reveals will be live streamed from the Expo, broadcast from 1300 hrs Pacific on Friday June 21. The real banner content may be the twin presentations from the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, which will be available online in the same format, and in-person on Saturday and Sunday. Those will be the only ones guaranteed to be streamed to the public, though, since the rest of the 'Brasilia Room seminars' will be available only through the FlightSimExpo's online registration system. Passes are free to Flight Sim Association Captains, or $15 for a one-time purchase. That gives recorded and live access to all seminars.

“The FlightSimExpo Online-Only Registration and our FSA Captain subscription are great ways for the community to help support the show from anywhere,” says FSA Co-Founder Evan Reiter. “If you can, please consider helping us cover the costs of livestreaming the show each year with this $15 purchase.”

“We’re getting set to host the biggest FlightSimExpo ever,” added event organizer Phil Coyle. “See you for another unforgettable weekend of product launches, hands-on exhibits, educational seminars, re-connecting with old friends, and making new ones. See you in Las Vegas!”
