Ninety-Nines Opens Search for New Executive Director

The Moran Company to Oversee Application Management

The Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots, recently announced its search for a new Executive Director. This leader will help guide the nonprofit organization’s 8,000 members and chapters into their next chapter.

The Executive Director will oversee operations, fundraising, and strategic initiatives, ensuring The Ninety-Nines’ mission of empowering women in aviation continues to thrive. The role involves fostering partnerships, engaging members, and leading efforts to grow the organization’s influence and impact. The position also includes managing an annual budget of approximately $600,000 and supporting the International Board of Directors in governance and strategic planning.

“This is an incredible opportunity for a leader who shares our passion for aviation and our commitment to empowering women in this field,” said Robin Hadfield, International President of the Ninety-Nines. “As we approach our 100th anniversary, we’re excited to find someone who will guide us into the future while honoring our rich history.”

The Ninety-Nines was founded in 1929 by Amelia Earhart and a group of 98 other licensed women pilots and has grown to include commercial, military, and recreational pilots, flight instructors, astronauts, and more. Members are united by a shared passion for aviation and a commitment to advancing opportunities for women in the field.

The organization’s Executive Director will be responsible for driving membership growth, implementing effective fundraising strategies, and enhancing the group’s visibility. The role offers the chance to continue the Ninety-Nines’ legacy as it prepares to celebrate a century of supporting female aviators.

Applications are being managed by The Moran Company, with details available through its secure online portal. This company specializes in finding Executive Directors/CEOs, Fundraising/Development Directors, Hospital Foundation Directors, and other senior leadership for the nonprofit community.
