Aerobility Launches 'Flying Stars' Campaign

Showcasing the Triumphs of Disabled Flyers

Inspirational videos celebrating the remarkable stories of disabled people whose lives have been changed for the better after discovering the magic and wonder of flight through charity Aerobility are at the center of a new on-line campaign.

The "Flying Stars" video series will shine a spotlight on the journeys of disabled individuals who have discovered their passion for flying and achieved their dreams of becoming aviators. Each Flying Star comes from diverse backgrounds and has conquered personal challenges with the power of flight.

The campaign is designed to raise awareness about the transformative power of aviation and the impact it can have on the lives of people living with disabilities, encouraging them to get involved with Aerobility.

One of Aerobility’s Flying Stars, Amy, is diagnosed with generalized osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease, both of which have had a profound impact on her mobility and daily life.

After discovering the charity and taking to the skies, Amy said: “Aerobility has changed my life for the better, massively. I have a purpose and something to live for, which is something I had lost for a very long time.”

Mike Miller-Smith, CEO at Aerobility said: “Since our humble beginnings in 1993, we have been on a remarkable journey. We've touched the lives of countless individuals with disabilities, empowering them to achieve their dreams of flight.

“We offer a range of experience flights, educational courses, and scholarships to ensure anyone can fly with Aerobility. We know how participating in aviation changes lives and we want as many people as possible to experience that.

“This is only possible because of the generosity of our donors and supporters.”

Founded in 1993, Aerobility is a U.K. charity perpetually about the commendable mission of providing disabled individuals access to the liberating, self-affirming, independence-fostering challenge of piloting an aircraft.

Across the broad sphere of human endeavor, few undertakings instantiate freedom from restriction so powerfully as flight. This axiomatic truth is particularly well understood by Aerobility’s founders and staff, many of whom are, themselves, disabled aviators.

Through various fundraising initiatives and thoughtful management strategies, Aerobility allows disabled individuals to get behind the controls of an aircraft for a fraction of the commercial rate.

Disabled individuals interested in learning more about Aerobility or applying for scholarships are invited to do so by visiting the organization’s website.
