Work Progresses On Dreamliner Program

Boeing Announces Additional 7E7 Work for Hamilton Sundstrand

Boeing and Hamilton Sundstrand are expanding their partnership on the all-new 7E7 Dreamliner passenger airplane with the selection of the United Technologies unit to provide the airplane's primary power distribution system. That system includes six large power panels containing equipment that controls, protects and distributes electrical power on the 7E7.

"Hamilton Sundstrand has won additional work because of its innovative approaches and understanding of our requirements," said Boeing 7E7 Senior Vice President Mike Bair. "Our systems team is really taking shape. We are making good progress selecting partners and completing the contracting process."

In February, Boeing selected Hamilton to provide the 7E7's auxiliary power unit, environmental control system, remote power distribution units and electrical power generating and start system.

The Boeing 7E7 Dreamliner is an all-new family of mid-sized airplanes that will provide exceptional fuel efficiencies for airlines and superior comfort for passengers. The airplane is expected to enter into service in 2008.
