Canadian to Attempt Record Flight to Raise Awareness of Elder Abuse

Skyhawk to Circle Free-Standing Tower 83 Times with Harvard Wingman

The Elder Abuse Air Force (EAAF) will be aiming for a World Record by orbiting the CN Tower 83 times on November 12th as part of their goal to bring attention to Alzheimer’s and elder abuse throughout Canada.

The EAAF will be represented by flight lead Mike Bremner in a Cessna 172 as he establishes a record for the most aircraft orbits around a free-standing structure. In the last few laps, he’ll be joined by the infamously Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association and their 3-ship formation of bright yellow trainer aircraft.

"Harvard aircraft used to train pilots in WWII are representative of the greatest generation. The generation we need to protect" said Mike Bremner.

His interest in the charity began in recent years when his 87-year old mother had her investments dissolved with more than half a million dollars in capital stolen by a family member abusing the power of attorney. The proliferation of abusive scams, schemes, and grifts to the aged often goes unnoticed, particularly for those with decreasing faculties. Since then, Bremner has made it a point to warn others of such developments, bringing attention to the problem and raising funding for Alzheimer’s prevention.

The event will be streamed live from the cockpit through the  Elder Abuse Awareness Flight Facebook account, with donations given to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
