Jet Shades Brings Out New Sun Protection

You Wouldn't Want an Untinted Car...Why Take it in a Plane?

Jet Shades’ new Sales Manager came to Oshkosh for the first time in his new capacity, ready to answer questions and extol the virtues of effective UV protection.

By now, it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone in the flight levels–everyone is experiencing more UV exposure than they do on the ground, and long-term health effects can be greatly impacted by simple preventive measures. Some pilots opt to wear the sun protection on their bodies, using sleeves or sunscreens whenever they’re on duty, but those can be stifling, greasy, or irritating in the wrong conditions. Jet Shades moves that sun protection off-body, putting the shields right where they are most effective. While their more popular offerings are articulated sun shades that can help block out head-on light, they offer a whole-plane solution that adds tint to passenger windows and reduces the fishbowl effect of stock clear windows.

Woff is a new pick for the team, and looks to build up momentum on top of the firm’s 6,000-odd customers already. With many of the most common GA and Biz aircraft represented in the Jet Shades catalog, it’s his race to lose, and their tech just keeps getting better. He’s particularly fond of their improvements to UVA and UVB prevention. Even simple packages like their “Ultra-Thins” for a 4-place GA plane block 99.9% of UV rays, and even prevent the ingress of solar energy to a significant degree. It seems like a small comfort improvement, but those of us flying in the summer belt have learned a tinted window is worth gold!

"We are thrilled to have Eric join the growing Jet Shades team," said Kevin J. Duggan, President of Jet Shades. "His extensive experience in aerospace sales, combined with his knowledge and enthusiasm for our product line, will continue to drive our growth and bring our innovative solutions to a wider audience. We're excited to have him meet with customers at our booth during EAA AirVenture."
