Two Royal Navy Sea Kings Down In Mid-Air Collision

Helicopters are having a tough time in the second Gulf war. ANN has just learned of an apparent mid-air collision involving two Royal Navy Sea King search and rescue helicopters.

Both aircraft reportedly collided over international waters in the Persian Gulf. At the moment, seven crewmen are reported missing and an aggressive search is underway. British forces spokesman, Group Capt. Al Lockwood, said that, "We are doing everything we can to ascertain what caused the accident." Lockwood reported that the collision was not the result of enemy fire. The collision reportedly occurred about 0430 local time, Saturday, (2030 EST, Friday).
