Ocala Aviation Flight Services announced a partnership with Montaer Aircraft that will see them use the MC-01 aircraft as the primary trainer in its Part 61 and Part 141 operations. The agreement “marks a significant step in Ocala Aviation’s mission to modernize its training fleet, enhance operational efficiency, and provide unparalleled training experiences to its new students,” though price probably factors in there somewhere too. The relationship will also see Ocala take up the role of service provider for the MC-01 aircraft, providing sales, training and support to would-be Montaer customers.
NASA has issued the clarion call for wannabe astronauts to throw in their applications, citing a deadline for the next class of spacebound aviators of April 16, 2024. Astronauts selected will eventually make their way to space in a variety of programs, from trips to operate aboard the International Space Station, future commercial space stations, or the crown jewel of future NASA activity, missions to the Moon under the ARTEMIS program.

Gogo Business Aviation has been granted FCC approval for their Gogo Galileo Terminals, allowing them to commercialize and operate the HDX and FDX antenna terminals on US-registered aircraft. The company will soon be rolling out the Galileo HDX and FDX antenna terminals for business aircraft, that is, once they finish their battery of testing. The HDX will be flight tested sometime this summer, being placed on the Gogo Challenger 300 testbed. “Receiving the ESIM license for the HDX and FDX terminals represents an important milestone in bringing the Gogo Galileo service to market by year end,” said Crystal Gordon, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Gogo.

On March 10, 2024, at 1503 Pacific daylight time, a Piper PA-32-260, N3264W, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Madras, Oregon. The pilot and passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Preliminary Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) data showed that the flight departed from Aurora State Airport (UAO), Aurora, Oregon, at 1405, and proceeded on an easterly flight path as it ascended to 10,000 ft mean sea level (msl).
