Also: Maeve Aerospace, Air Inuit Pilots File Notice, QantasLink A220, Robinson AD

One of the greatest airshow events in the UK has been cancelled for 2024 and question marks litter the landscape thereafter. A letter addressed to friends, partners, and colleagues on the Flying Legends website stated that, “It is with much regret that we confirm our decision to cancel the upcoming Flying Legends Air Show 2024. This decision has not been made lightly and an in-depth assessment of our options for the year ahead.” Christmas came early for the fine folks at CAP... and we're a little jealous. Seven new aircraft will join a whopping fleet of 540 Cessnas owned and operated by CAP — the world’s largest Cessna piston air

A New Certified CC19-215 XCub Went To A Cool New Home In Montana

Yeah.... it's one heck of a milestone. CubCrafters made company history this week by delivering its 1000th new aircraft to Tim Sheehy, CEO of Bridger Aerospace, in Bozeman, Montana. The milestone aircraft, a CubCrafters CC19-215 XCub, was delivered in Bridger Aerospace firefighting livery, the paint scheme itself a tribute to the company’s fleet of Canadair CL-415 “Super Scooper” water-bomber aircraft -- where the bird is going to be in GOOD company. Mr. Sheehy comments that, “Bridger Aerospace and CubCrafters have a relationship going back to 2016 when we worked together on a project for the US Military. We frequently base near their factory in Yaki

Four Private Astronauts From Three Different Countries Will Journey To 'Space'

Virgin Galactic has announced that the ‘Galactic 06’ flight window will open January 26, 2024. This will be the Company’s 11th spaceflight to date and will follow a year of human 'spaceflight' achievements that included six suborbital 'spaceflights' in six months (E-I-C Note: We denote the word 'spaceflights' in quotes due to the fact that these flights do not exceed the altitude established as the Karman line which has been heretofore been used, and defined by the FAI, to mark the boundary of space). Four private astronauts from three different countries will journey to 'space' on Virgin Galactic’s sixth commercial spaceflight. &n

The 2022 runway extension and expansion project at Lake Elmo Airport has rankled a few neighbors, with nearly 4,300 noise complaints issued from 16 locations near the airport. Unfortunately, the local news has reported the story with much fanfare for the nearly 4300 complaints BUT without mentioning that it comes from a handful of NIMBY airport haters spouting highly suspect claims. The Air Force is looking to entice its aviators into eschewing the civilian life for a few more years with new FY2024 incentives that will provide an extra $15,000 t

Also: OSIRIS-REx Update, Block 5 MQ-9A, Eve Air Mobility-Flynas, Axial Flux Motor

Reliable Robotics completed a test flight using an uncrewed Cessna 208B Caravan, operated entirely by a pilot on the ground 50 miles away. The company wants to corner the market on remotely piloted aircraft before the rest of the industry sees their worth. If successful, the firm believes its tech will further democratize the already legendary Cessna Caravan, serving as an "essential role connecting communities and businesses across the United States and around the globe." NTSB Final Report: Stearman E75

Partial Loss Of Engine Power Due To The Fatigue Failure Of An Engine Cylinder...

Analysis: The airplane departed and was in a continuous climb at 70 mph, at 2,500 rpm. The pilot observed a cylinder depart the engine and experienced a partial loss of engine power. A video of the event recorded the sound of the engine becoming quieter and the tachometer showed a continuous 1,000 rpm reading following the separation. The video captured the airplane maneuvering over open fields suitable for a forced landing as it descended back towards the departure airstrip. The recording ended before the airplane was destroyed by contact with trees and terrain 500 feet prior to the landing strip.
