Gov. Newsom Signs Bill That Sacrifices Safety Despite Heavy Opposition

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill that prohibits the sale, distribution, or making available leaded aviation gasoline beginning on January 1, 2031. The bill was brought by State Senator Caroline Menjivar and although it originally had a much shorter timeline, it was still opposed by some community and environmental groups. To no one’s surprise, the most strenuous objections came from airports and aviation groups and businesses.

Trio Autopilot Receives Three New Cessna STCs

Tech Approved to Operate on the Dynon SkyView HDX

The Trio Avionics Pro Pilot Autopilot was recently granted three new Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Cessna 150/152, Cessna 170B, and French-built REIMS Cessnas. The technology is also now approved to be integrated into the Dynon SkyView HDX. The Trio Autopilot is a two-axis system encompassing horizontal, vertical, and safety modes.

Jump Aero And Texas County Partner For eVTOL First Response

Calhoun County EMS Will Collaborate On Trial Deployment

Jump Aero announced it has entered an agreement to collaborate with Calhoun County Emergency Management Services (EMS) to deploy on a trial basis Jump Aero’s JA1 Pulse eVTOL aircraft to test field operations. Information gathered during the test deployment will guide decisions about future operations of Jump Aero technology in rural communities. The two parties will also work to jointly identify funding opportunities through federal programs and grants to support the deployment.

Jet Aviation Adds Jet IN Milwaukee To Global Network

FBO Opened In 2023

Jet Aviation has acquired Jet IN’s FBO facility at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) in Wisconsin, the company announced on September 30. The FBO joins Jet Aviation’s worldwide network of nearly fifty facilities delivering a broad mix of services including nearly FBOs, maintenance, completions, charter, aircraft management, sales, and defense support.
