Will Fly As Part Of Minority Youth Aviation Scholarship Program
Piper Aircraft has received orders for two Pilot 100i single-engine trainers from the Tuskegee Airmen Inc., inspired aviation scholarship program, the RedTail Flight Academy (RFA). The RedTail Flight Academy, which began its legacy with the Major General Irene-Trowel Harris Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, will officially begin training students in September 2021. The Academy, with a mission of honoring the legacy of the original Tuskegee Airmen, will be based at New York Stewart International Airport, will train to a Part 141 curriculum, and will start with six pilot scholarships, increasing to thirty students per year by 2026.

(Pilot) Initiated A Forced Landing To A Clearing On Sloped Terrain
On May 16, 2021, about 1545 Pacific daylight time, a Cessna 210, N7350E, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lake Arrowhead, California. The pilot and passenger were seriously injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that while climbing through an altitude of about 8,500 ft mean sea level (msl), en route to Big Bear Airport (L35), Big Bear City, California, he noted a partial loss of engine power. He contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) and was provided with alternate airports and current weather information.
